Terms of use
Last updated: 24 September 2026
These terms govern the use of the Creso app, published by Providence (hola@providencehq.es). By installing and using it, you accept them.
This is the English version of the terms. The Spanish original is the one published first; if the two ever disagree, the Spanish text prevails, without prejudice to the rights consumer law gives you where you live.
What this app is
A tool for recording and looking at your own money. Nothing more and nothing less.
Creso is not a financial institution: it does not hold money, does not make payments, does not connect to your bank and does not move a single euro of any real account. What you see on screen is what you have written.
It is not advice
The app does not provide financial, tax, accounting or investment advice, and nothing it shows should be taken as a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any product. Budgets, reports and suggested figures are arithmetic on the data you entered.
This applies very particularly to the Investments section. The app has no price source of its own: you type the prices, whenever you want (or they arrive from the account of a provider you plug in yourself, see below), and everything calculated from them — portfolio value, average price, gain or loss — is worth exactly what those prices are worth. It is a notebook, not a broker or a quote service, and its figures are not suitable for tax returns or for investment decisions without checking them against your broker.
If you turn it on, you can plug in your own free account with an external stock-market data provider (EODHD) so that the closing price of your shares and funds arrives on its own, once a day. That service is not ours: you open the account with them, under their conditions, and the app only makes the request from your phone with your key. We do not guarantee that the provider keeps the service, its free plan or the coverage of any particular security, nor are we responsible for the accuracy of the prices it returns; if one day it stops answering, your prices stay as they were. It is optional, not everything is covered and you remove it whenever you like by deleting the key.
Your data and your backups
Your data lives on your phone (see the privacy policy). That means making backups and keeping them off the device is your responsibility: if you lose the phone, it breaks or you uninstall the app without a backup kept elsewhere, that data cannot be recovered, and we cannot recover it either because we never had it.
The app makes it easy — manual export, checking the backup after writing it and automatic backup to the folder you choose — but the last step, getting the file off the phone, is yours.
Subscription and purchases
Features marked Pro are unlocked with a monthly or yearly subscription and, on Google Play, also with a one-time purchase. The exact price, duration and conditions are shown on the purchase screen before you pay.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase, and the renewal within the 24 hours before the end of the period.
- They are managed and cancelled from the store, not from inside the app: on Android, Google Play → «Payments & subscriptions»; on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Refunds are governed by the policy of the store you bought from (Google Play or Apple).
- If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple’s standard End User License Agreement also applies (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/). Where these terms contradict that agreement as regards the App Store, Apple’s prevails.
- If you are a consumer in the European Union you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content, unless you asked to start using it immediately and expressly waived that right when buying.
If the subscription ends, your data stays: nothing is deleted. The paid features stop being available, and come back exactly as they were the day you renew.
Permitted use
You may use the app for whatever you like, personally or professionally. You may not decompile it, redistribute it modified or pass it off as yours, beyond what the law allows in each case.
Warranties and liability
The app is provided «as is». Care is taken that the figures add up — balances, budgets and backups have automated tests behind them — but it is not guaranteed to be free of errors or fit for any particular purpose.
To the extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for indirect damage or for the loss of data that was not backed up. Nothing in these terms limits the rights consumer law gives you as a consumer, or liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
Third-party software
The app includes open-source components. Their licences can be read inside the app, under «Settings → Legal → Software licences».
Governing law
Spanish law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to go to the courts where you live.
Changes
If these terms change, the date above changes with them and the new version ships inside the app itself.
